Ulgyr is one of the 7 Sons of Malar, a group of powerful demigods of beasts. He takes the form of an enormous polar bear covered with rune-like markings of power. A colossal werebear, one of the Seven Sons of Malar and a divinity linked to Connor Lycanmor.

His relationship with the other sons is mostly unknown, but he seemed to hold a soft spot for Ulvar before his presumed “death.” He also holds a strong dislike for Ulveric, presumably due to a rivalry. Despite thousands of years passing since the war they were utilized for, he still follows the ancient pact that was made and is currently using Connor Lycanmor as a host.

Only in early 1486 DR did Ulgyr first contact Connor in his dreams, after the defeat of the Runespeaker, speaking about the ancient pacts and expressing disappointment in Connor’s civility. For the next few months, he threatened and taught him to embrace his savage side, occasionally with unfortunate consequences.

Despite some trials and tribulations in their relationship, Ulgyr eventually grew to consider Connor as a friend during their fight against a corrupted Ulvar, and begged Ulvar to have mercy for Connor, which he hesitantly did. When Connor became possessed by the mad Erdanis in the Tower that found the Truth, Ulgyr eventually managed to fight off the corruption, at the cost of entering a comatose state.
