*The tale begins like any other epic tale, with the heroes united in a divine mission to destroy an ancient evil. In this tale, it was the above mentioned eight knights who received a vision from a legendary angel, requesting them to defeat the evil threatening the world.

During their journey to this den of evil, the angel guided them on their way, but upon reaching the land, the corrupting force of this evil proved to be too much for them.

When the first and the second knight were sent to scout ahead, old tempers and rivalries were reignited and the second’s blood was spilled by the first in a fit of fury, but not without the first being killed in return

As the knights fight against the minions of darkness, the third knight falls in battle, burdened by too many wounds, and was buried.

With their supplies rapidly dwindling, the fourth knight commited a terrible deed in this desesperate state. He dug out the body of the third and devoured the still fresh corpse of his fallen friend. The fourth dies later, due to diseases obtained from eating the corpse.

The fifth knight knows despair. He has seens comrades die and becoming monsters. With the lair of the evil in sight, his resolve shatters. Like a coward, he takes his own life, in hopes of not sharing the same fates as the others.

Finally, the last and most resilient of the three reach their objective. This evil creature is before them. The one who has killed so many. It couldn’t even be considered a battle. They failed. It was too powerful.

The sixth knight makes a decision and reveals his true colours. He sacrifices the seventh to this evil, so he may survive. In the end , only the eighth knight remained intact. He couldn’t stand the presence of the betrayer seventh.

He runs. He swears vengeance against the entity, against the betrayer, against the angel, against the world.

As time passes, he loses his honor. He becomes a monster.

You may wonder what happened to the Angel. It’s not relevant to the moral of this tale, but… One thing can be said about it’s fate:

Even Angels can be corrupted.
