Thornwood is a small village located south of Luskan, the City of Sails, near the path south to Port Llast. Composed of only a few farming communities, the village would be quite obscure if it were not for its location in the path to Port Llast and a very famous tourist hotspot: The Gold Canary. Thornwood is also the hometown of the adventurer Ellora.
The Gold Canary: Known for its good taste in music and cleaner-than-usual silverware, the Gold Canary is clearly one of the nicer taverns in the Realms. Despite its location it is able to maintain a high quality both in food and decoration. The owner is a male Hill Dwarf named Grunstout, who is said to be able to keep the tavern running because of his family’s old fortune.
As of 1486 DR, the tavern became even more popular due to the fact that it used to employ the now famous chef Pierre Fierren.
History
In 1485 DR, the wood elf Elora was kidnapped by Elindor to be used for his experiments in Luskan.
In early 1486 DR, before the Seekers arrived at Thornwood to leave the rescued Elora, her parents were strangled in their sleep by a mysterious entity.
In 1486 DR, when the Seekers visited the town, they managed to prevent a small extraplanar incursion by helping out a young boy named Tobbi and his friend modron 312.
Population: ~100. Defences: a dozen trained militia with two veterans leading them.
