Situated between the outer and middle layers of Calimsharn, the Blood Mines are the city’s primary source of wealth. Most inhabitants of the outer district work in these mines to afford basic necessities, but they rarely have access to the Hospital in the middle district when needed. The mines are overseen by the Lady of Blood, who maintains a dedicated force of soldiers to patrol the area. These soldiers serve a dual purpose: protecting Calimsharn from abominations emerging from the Pit and from miners infected with the Red Plague.
