Dagult Neverember is the Open Lord of Waterdeep and Lord Protector of Neverwinter, as well as a member of the Lords Alliance.
Born to a simple merchant family, he amassed a sizable fortune and in 1469 DR launched the New Neverwinter movement, claiming descent from the city’s former rulers to legitimize himself as Lord Protector. He invested heavily in rebuilding the city’s infrastructure, securing merchant interests, and feeding Neverwintian refugees. He is closely allied with the Hall of Justice, which serves as his main base in the city.
In 1486 DR, Grothgar’s massacre of Neverwinter citizens was calculated to force Neverember’s hand and compel him to declare war against Luskan. The slaughter was stopped by the Seekers before it could succeed. Neverember also entrusted the Seekers to remove the threat of a malfunctioning mage tower after they proved themselves by stopping Grothgar’s rampage.
