Grothgar was a bloodthirsty orc warrior from the old Togak Tribe where Nog Buzzkiller was born in. Though renowned as one of their greatest fighters, Grothgar’s unrestrained savagery proved too much even for his own kin. His insatiable lust for violence eventually led to his exile — a rare punishment among orc tribes.

Some time later, he was offered power by a powerful divine entity of war in exchange for spreading its influence across the mortal world. For this purpose, he joined a “group of assassins” from Don Tigre’s clan.

Their mission: assassinate Baron Rikkler, a visiting noble in Neverwinter. When the plan failed, Grothgar took matters into his own hands. He decided to start a war on his own terms and started massacring hundreds of citizens of Neverwinter, until Dagult Neverember wouldn’t have a choice except declare war against Luskan.

Thankfully, his massacre was prevented by the visiting Seekers, but not before maiming and killing some allies of the group, such as the gnome Gnubbar and the dwarf blacksmith Bob Stevens.

Upon his death, the power lent to him by the entity attempted to possess Zenvalros. Only by making a pact with an entity calling itself Death, has he managed to prevent the possession.
